Two years later, the first ID-221 sensors were shipped to customers. In 1999, the company was acquired by Ionics Inc. and renamed Ionics Agar Environmental Ltd. In 2006, Ionics Inc. was acquired by GE as part of the establishment of the developing Power & Water sector, and the company operated under the name GE Analytical Instruments. In March 2017, as part of the sale of GE’s water business to Suez, the company became independent again under a new name: Agar Environmental Ltd.
